What is the RTC4183 rear fog lamp lens?

The RTC4183 is the red lens for the rear fog lamp assembly. It seals over the bulb and reflector and colours the output to the red signal a rear fog lamp needs. It fits the Series II/III and Defender from 1983 to 2006.

Do I get the whole fog lamp or just the lens?

The RTC4183 is the lens only, not the complete lamp. It's supplied to replace a lens that has cracked, faded or yellowed, restoring the correct red colour and a weatherproof seal to your existing lamp body.

Why replace a faded rear fog lamp lens?

A cracked or yellowed rear fog lens dims the output and lets in moisture, which can corrode the reflector and bulb holder. A faded red lens also fails to give the legal red signal, so replacing it restores both the correct colour and a sealed lamp.
