Vacuümvervroeger voor de ontstekingverdeler van de 3,5L V8 benzinemotor.

Deze vacuümvervroeger wordt aan de zijkant van de verdeler gemonteerd en met een kleine pijp verbonden met een vacuümaansluiting op de carburateur of het inlaatspruitstuk. Bij lichte belasting trekt vacuüm het membraan tegen de veer en roteert de koppeling de grondplaat van de verdeler om de ontsteking te vervroegen, wat de efficiëntie bij deellast verbetert; naarmate de belasting toeneemt en het vacuüm afneemt, keert de timing terug.

Een gescheurd membraan of een vastgelopen koppeling uit zich in slecht functioneren bij deellast, pingelen of een verminderd brandstofverbruik.

What does the vacuum advance unit do?
The vacuum advance unit is the capsule on the side of the ignition distributor that advances timing under light load. Manifold or carburettor vacuum draws its diaphragm against a spring, rotating the pick-up base plate to advance the spark for better part-throttle efficiency; as load rises and vacuum falls, timing returns. It's fitted to the 3.5L V8.
What are the symptoms of a failed vacuum advance?
A ruptured diaphragm or seized linkage typically shows as poor part-throttle running, pinking, or loss of economy on the V8. You can check it by applying vacuum to the capsule and watching whether the base plate moves and holds. A capsule that won't hold vacuum needs renewing.
Which Land Rover V8s does this vacuum advance fit?
This vacuum advance fits the 3.5L V8 twin carb Defender, Discovery 1 (FA393361 to WA799999) and Range Rover Classic. On the Range Rover Classic it covers twin carb and EFI to VIN HA610293, and EFI from JA610294. Confirm your distributor type and VIN before ordering.
