What is the Transfer Box Differential Bearing (RTC6015) and what does it do?
The RTC6015 is a roller bearing that supports the centre differential inside the transfer gearbox. It locates the differential and carries the radial loads passing through it while letting it rotate. It's an OEM SKF bearing fitting the Range Rover Classic and Range Rover P38.
How many RTC6015 bearings are needed per vehicle?
Two RTC6015 bearings are fitted per vehicle, so you'll usually need a pair when rebuilding the centre differential in the transfer box. Order both if you're replacing them as a set during a transfer case overhaul.
What are the signs the transfer box differential bearing is failing?
A worn transfer box differential bearing typically whines or rumbles from under the vehicle, often changing with speed, and can leave play in the centre differential. Left unchecked, a failed bearing can damage the differential and transfer case internals. Both bearings are usually replaced together on the Classic and P38.
