What is the inner shock absorber washer used for?
The inner shock absorber washer seats on a pin-type shock absorber mounting, locating and retaining the damper's rubber bush at its anchorage. It sits against the bush on the mounting pin to hold it in position. This genuine Land Rover washer is for pin-type damper mountings, not the later bolt-through type.
How many shock absorber washers are needed per vehicle?
Eight inner shock absorber washers are fitted per vehicle on Defender applications. They're used at the pin-type shock absorber mountings, so a full set covers the front and rear damper anchorages. Order the full quantity if you're refreshing all the shock mountings at once.
