This is a cross-drilled and grooved rear vented brake disc for the Discovery 3, Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport L320. The drilled holes and machined grooves clear gas, dust and water from the pad face, giving more consistent bite and steadier pedal feel under repeated heavy braking.
What is the difference from the plain rear disc?
The difference from a plain rear disc is the drilled and grooved friction face. It uses the standard rear caliper and pad set with no bracket or caliper changes, so it is a direct swap. The trade-off is that it wears pads a little faster, so check pad thickness more often.
How many are needed and how are they fitted?
Fit rear discs as a matched axle pair, two per vehicle, and bed them in with fresh pads. Replacing only one side leaves uneven friction surfaces and can pull the braking to one side.
