Frequently asked questions

What does the front left ABS sensor do?
The front left-hand ABS sensor is the wheel speed sensor that mounts at the left front hub. It reads the teeth of the exciter (reluctor) ring as the wheel turns and feeds the rotational-speed signal to the ABS control unit, which detects impending lock-up and modulates brake pressure. This is a Wabco OEM sensor.
Which Range Rover does this LH ABS sensor fit, and is it the same as AMR3313?
This left-hand front ABS sensor fits the Range Rover Classic (1986-1994) with the 4-wheel anti-lock braking system. It's interchangeable with Land Rover reference AMR3313. It covers the left-hand front position only; the right-hand front and rear use separate sensors.
What are the symptoms of a failed ABS sensor?
A failed or contaminated ABS sensor commonly triggers the ABS warning lamp and disables anti-lock function on that circuit. Typical causes include metal debris on the sensor tip, a damaged reluctor ring or a broken signal wire. Ordinary braking still works, but anti-lock on that wheel is lost.
