Lagedrukkoelmiddel uit het expansieventiel stroomt door de verdamperkern terwijl de blazer cabinelucht over de vinnen trekt. Warmte wordt opgenomen in het koelmiddel, waardoor de lucht wordt gekoeld en ontvochtigd voordat deze de cabine binnenkomt. Het bevindt zich stroomafwaarts van het expansieventiel in het airconditioningsysteem aan de voorzijde.
