Het binnenste uiteinde van de voorste aandrijfas grijpt aan op het differentieel tandwiel; deze borgring zit in een groef op de as en klemt zich achter het tandwiel om de as axiaal te vergrendelen, waardoor deze niet onder belasting kan losschieten.

What does the front axle driveshaft circlip do?
The front axle driveshaft circlip locks the inner end of the front driveshaft into the differential. It seats in a groove on the shaft and snaps behind the side gear, holding the shaft in axially so it can't pull out of the diff under load.
Can the driveshaft circlip be reused or should it be replaced?
Replace the front axle driveshaft circlip whenever the driveshaft is pulled from the differential. These clips are typically single-use, they lose tension once spread and removed, and a weak clip can let the shaft work loose. Fitting a new one is cheap insurance.
