What is the TF0017 steering guard for?

The TF0017 steering guard is underbody protection covering the steering box and track rod on the Land Rover Defender up to 2016. It is a slotted alloy plate powder coated black, carried on black steel side plates, shielding the steering components from impact damage off-road.

Is the TF0017 steering guard black or natural alloy?

The TF0017 is the black powder-coated version of the steering guard; a natural alloy finish version is available separately. Both are the same slotted alloy guard for the Defender steering box and track rod, so choose the finish you prefer, as the protection is the same.

Where does the black steering guard mount on the Defender?

The steering guard mounts to the chassis front cross-member and chassis rails on the Defender up to 2016. The plate is tapered to keep the approach angle, and laser-cut slots allow cooling air through to the cooling system. It fits to existing chassis structure.
