What are deployable side steps and how do they work?
Deployable side steps are powered running boards that stow beneath the sill and extend automatically when a door is opened on the Discovery Sport. With the doors closed they retract into the sill line, keeping the standard side profile, ground clearance and breakover angle.
Which vehicle and which side are these steps for?
These deployable side steps fit the Discovery Sport from 2015 onwards and are for right-hand drive vehicles. Left-hand drive vehicles need the LHD version, so match the steps to your car's configuration.
Can the side steps be deployed with the doors closed?
Yes, an override function lets the side steps deploy while the doors are shut. That gives a step up to the roof for loading a roof rack or roof box without opening a door.
Are these side steps supplied for both sides?
