What is the TF685 6 and 4 piston brake kit?
The TF685 is a performance brake upgrade for the Defender that replaces the front and rear calipers and the front discs, using six-piston front calipers with 330 x 32mm grooved discs and four-piston rear calipers.
What pads and caliper construction does the kit use?
The kit uses EBC Redstuff pads front and rear. The calipers are aerospace-grade aluminium, hard anodised and ceramic coated, running stainless steel pistons and pins with grade 12.9 high-tensile bolts.
Are rear brake discs included?
No, rear brake discs are not included. The kit runs the standard 298mm rear disc, so a vehicle still fitted with the earlier 290mm rear discs will need to change to the 298mm type.
What wheels clear the TF685 brake kit?
The larger caliper and disc package is dimensioned to clear 16-inch and larger steel or alloy wheels.
Which Defender does this kit fit?
It fits the Defender 90 (1983-2006). AllMakes also lists a 110 and 130 application for 2007 to 2016.
