What does this indicator switch do?

This indicator switch is a steering-column stalk that combines the direction indicators, headlamp main and dipped beam switching and the horn in one assembly. It's the Lucas column switch for Defender, supplied complete to replace a worn or faulty original.

Where is the switch fitted?

The switch mounts on the steering column as a stalk control, within reach of the wheel. From there it selects left and right indicators, switches main and dipped beam and operates the horn on the Defender electrical system.

Which Defenders does it fit, and what about VIN?

It fits Defender from 1987-2006, and the 2007-2016 PUMA Defender from VIN 7A000001 to EA999999. Check your VIN against the PUMA range before ordering, as the column switch changed across that 2007 transition.

Is this supplied as a complete switch?

Yes, it's supplied as a complete column switch assembly, so the indicator, dip and horn functions come as one unit. There's no need to reuse internals from the old Lucas switch when fitting it to the Defender.
