What does the ETC5592 relief valve do?

The ETC5592 is the piston cooling oil jet relief valve, fitted in the cylinder block oil feed to the piston cooling jets. It regulates oil supply to those jets, opening above a set oil pressure so oil sprays against the underside of the pistons to cool them. It's distinct from the main oil pump relief valve.
