What does the rear brake mudshield do?
The rear brake mudshield is the splash shield fitted behind the right-hand rear brake disc. It shields the disc and braking surfaces from mud, water and road debris thrown up by the wheel, helping keep the friction faces clean on the Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic.
Does this rear mudshield fit all Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic models?
On the Discovery 1 this right-hand rear shield fits non-ABS cars with solid, non-vented rear discs from VIN FA393361. On the Range Rover Classic it fits 1992-1994 with or without ABS from VIN JA610294. Check your disc and ABS setup before ordering.
Is this the left or right shield?
This is the right-hand rear brake mudshield. The left-hand side uses a separate shield. They're handed for the rear axle, so order the side you're replacing on your Discovery 1 or Range Rover Classic.
