What is the ERC9118 plenum chamber hose?

The ERC9118 is a plenum chamber hose for the V8 EFI petrol engine. It is one of the rubber induction hoses on the plenum chamber that sits on top of the injected V8 intake, handling air or vacuum on the inlet side.

Where is it fitted?

It connects at the plenum chamber on top of the V8 EFI intake manifold. The plenum controls airflow into the throttle body and injectors, so the hoses around it carry idle air and vacuum feeds.

Why replace the plenum hose?

Age and underbonnet heat make the V8 EFI plenum hoses go hard and split, causing vacuum leaks, uneven idle and poor running. Fitting a fresh hose is a common step when diagnosing idle and running faults.
