Deze vork scharniert op een draaipunt in de koppeling en zet de beweging van de koppelingshulpcilinder om in lineaire kracht op het druklager. Door het koppelingspedaal in te trappen, wordt de vork bediend, die het druklager tegen de membraanveer van de koppelingsplaat drukt om de aandrijving tussen motor en versnellingsbak te ontkoppelen.

What does the clutch fork do?
The clutch fork transfers movement from the clutch slave cylinder to the release bearing inside the gearbox bellhousing. Pressing the clutch pedal pivots the fork on its fulcrum post, which pushes the release bearing against the clutch cover diaphragm spring to disengage drive between engine and gearbox.
Where is the clutch fork located?
The clutch fork sits inside the gearbox bellhousing on Land Rover Series 2 and 3 models. It pivots on a fulcrum post and carries the release bearing, between the slave cylinder pushrod and the clutch cover. Reaching it usually means separating the gearbox from the engine.
Why does the clutch fork fail?
Clutch forks typically wear at the pivot point and at the contact tips where they meet the release bearing. A bent fork, worn fulcrum or cracked casting can give a heavy or vague pedal. Buried in the bellhousing, it's usually checked and replaced during a clutch overhaul.
Should the clutch fork be replaced during a clutch change?
It's worth replacing the clutch fork during a full clutch change if the pivot or contact faces show wear. The bellhousing has to come apart to reach it, so doing it alongside the clutch kit avoids a second strip-down later on the Series gearbox.
