What does the door check strap buffer do?

This lower door check buffer is the rubber buffer that fits on the door check rod. It cushions the rod at the end of its travel, limiting how far the door swings open and absorbing the shock as the check reaches its stop on early Land Rovers.

Which Land Rovers use this door check buffer?

This lower door check buffer fits the Land Rover Series 1 (1954-1958) and Series 2 and 2a (1958-1971) on the door check rod. On the 101 Forward Control it's also used as the buffer for the 24 volt battery J bolt rod.

How many door check buffers do I need?
