Oliecarter - 2.25 Benzine/Diesel - 2.5 Benzine is het motoroliecarter voor de 2.25L 4-cilinder benzinemotoren, 2.25L 4-cilinder dieselmotoren en 2.5L 4-cilinder benzinemotoren die gebruikt worden in Land Rover Series en vroege Defender en andere modellen die met deze motorvarianten zijn uitgerust.

Het carter wordt aan de onderkant van het cilinderblok vastgeschroefd en vormt het onderste reservoir van het motoroliesysteem, waarin de door de oliepomp aangezogen motorolievoorraad zich bevindt. Het bevat een aftapplug voor routinematige olieverversingen. Bij montage moet een bijpassende carterpakking worden gebruikt om een oliedichte afsluiting met het blok te garanderen.

This is the engine oil sump, the oil pan that bolts to the base of the cylinder block on the 2.25 litre petrol, 2.25 litre diesel and 2.5 litre petrol four-cylinder engines. It holds the engine's oil supply and carries the drain plug for oil changes. It fits Series II, IIA, III and Defender.

Do I need a new gasket when fitting this sump?

Yes, fit a fresh sump gasket whenever you refit the sump to get an oil-tight seal to the block. The old gasket won't reliably reseal once disturbed. Clean both mating faces first. The sump gasket is a separate item, so order it alongside the sump.
