What is the BA 2156 shock turret and what does it do?
The BA 2156 shock turret is the tubular mounting tower that locates the upper end of the front shock absorber. It bolts to the chassis and carries the damper load into the vehicle structure on the Defender (1983-2006), Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic. Supplied with a galvanised finish.
Is this turret supplied singly or as a pair?
The BA 2156 shock turret is supplied as a pair, covering both front shock absorber mounts. That suits a job where both sides are replaced together, which is common once corrosion has set into the original front turrets on these older Land Rover chassis.
Why replace the front shock turrets on an older Defender or Range Rover Classic?
