Frequently asked questions

What is the BKG700020 bonnet clip for?

The BKG700020 is the bonnet stay clip on the Land Rover Discovery 2 (1998-2004). It retains the bonnet stay (prop rod) in its stowed position when the bonnet is closed, stopping the rod rattling against the bodywork. Genuine Land Rover part.

How many bonnet clips do I need?

Usually one clip retains the bonnet stay rod on the Discovery 2, so a single BKG700020 covers the standard repair. It's a common replacement once the original has aged, gone brittle, or no longer grips the rod and lets it rattle.

Can I fit the bonnet stay clip myself?

Yes, the BKG700020 is a straightforward DIY fit on the Discovery 2. It typically clips into place by hand or with basic trim tools, no special equipment needed. Confirm the clip style matches your existing bonnet stay mounting before ordering.
