Cycloonfilter voor het carterventilatiesysteem op de viercilinder 2.5L dieselmotor (atmosferisch, 200TDi en 300TDi).

Het onderdeel, gemonteerd aan de zijkant van het motorblok, fungeert als een oliedampafscheider: cartergassen passeren de cycloonkamer waar olienevel condenseert en terugvloeit naar de oliepan, terwijl de gereinigde lucht wordt afgevoerd naar de inlaat. Dit voorkomt dat olienevel in de luchtinlaat terechtkomt.

Het filter is gevoelig voor verstoppingen tijdens gebruik, en een verstopt onderdeel kan ervoor zorgen dat olie in de inlaat wordt gezogen en rook of vervuiling veroorzaakt. Het is daarom een routinematig onderhoudsvervangingsonderdeel.
