The boost pipe assembly connects the inlet manifold to the injection pump's boost control diaphragm on the 2.5L 300 TDi turbo diesel. It carries turbocharger boost pressure to the pump so fuelling is adjusted in proportion to manifold pressure, giving correct boost-dependent fuelling under load.

What happens if the boost pipe leaks?

A leaking boost pipe causes under-fuelling and a noticeable loss of power under load on the 300 TDi. The injection pump can't see full manifold pressure, so it won't add the fuel the engine needs as the turbo builds boost. A sound, leak-free pipe restores correct fuelling.
