The ESR536 is the bottom radiator hose for the 200TDi turbo diesel engine in the Defender. It returns cooled coolant from the base of the radiator to the water pump inlet, forming the lower connection of the cooling circuit. Fits both non-A/C and A/C 200TDi builds.

Does the ESR536 fit all 200TDi Defenders?

The ESR536 fits Defender 200TDi models, both non-A/C and A/C, up to VIN JA915821. Later chassis after that VIN break used a different bottom hose, so check your VIN against JA915821 before ordering to confirm the lower hose matches.

When should the bottom radiator hose be replaced?

Replace the bottom radiator hose when it feels soft, swollen, or cracked, or if coolant is weeping at the water pump or radiator connection. On the 200TDi, a failing lower hose typically causes coolant loss and can starve the pump of flow, risking overheating.
