The GA5551KIT is a heavy-duty clutch kit for the 200TDi and 300TDi diesel engines. It comprises the clutch cover (pressure plate), the driven friction plate, a heavy-duty release bearing and a heavy-duty release fork, fitting the Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic.

How does this differ from the other 200/300TDi clutch kits?

The GA5551KIT adds a heavy-duty release fork and bearing on top of the cover and plate, making it the most complete kit. The DA5551 includes the cover, plate and release bearing, while the DA5552 supplies the cover and plate only. Pick the kit for the parts you are renewing.

Why fit a heavy-duty release fork?

The release fork can crack or wear at the pivot on the 200TDi and 300TDi, and a failed fork means the clutch will not disengage. Fitting the heavy-duty fork with the clutch renews a known weak point while the gearbox is already out, avoiding a repeat strip-down later.
