Frequently asked questions

What does the LR018322 EGR valve do?
The LR018322 EGR valve meters exhaust gas from the exhaust manifold back into the intake on the 3.6L V8 TDV8 diesel engine, lowering combustion temperatures to cut NOx emissions. This is the left-hand (LH) cylinder bank valve; each bank has its own unit.
Which models does the LH EGR valve fit?
The LR018322 fits the left-hand bank of the 3.6L V8 TDV8 diesel in the Range Rover L322 (2010-2012) and Range Rover Sport L320 (2010-2013). Fitment runs from VIN (V)AA000001 on, so confirm your chassis number and engine before ordering.
Why do EGR valves fail on the V8 TDV8 diesel?
EGR valves typically fail through carbon build-up that makes the valve stick open or closed. Common symptoms include rough idle, reduced power, higher emissions and an EGR-related fault code. A clogged valve on the V8 TDV8 can also trigger limp mode.
Does the V8 TDV8 use one EGR valve or two?
The 3.6L V8 TDV8 uses two EGR valves, one per cylinder bank. The LR018322 covers the left-hand bank only; the right-hand bank takes a separate valve. If you're replacing one for carbon build-up, it's worth checking the opposite bank at the same time.
