Gemonteerd op de carrosseriestijl, biedt het het vaste aangrijpingspunt waar de deurgrendel in haakt wanneer de deur wordt gesloten, waardoor de deur tegen de opening wordt gepositioneerd en deze vergrendeld blijft terwijl het voertuig in beweging is.
