Toepassing: 1.8L K16 viercilinder benzinemotor.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Heater Hose Outlet for the 1.8 K16 used for?
The heater outlet hose carries coolant away from the heater matrix outlet and returns it to the engine cooling circuit on the Freelander 1 1.8 K16 petrol. It completes the flow path that feeds cabin heat, so it's part of the HVAC heater circuit rather than the main radiator loop.
Why do heater hoses fail on the Freelander 1?
Heater hoses fail because the rubber hardens, cracks and perishes over years of heat cycling on the Freelander 1 cooling system. Typical signs are coolant weeping at the hose ends, a sweet smell, a dropping coolant level, or weak cabin heat. Replacing a perished hose prevents coolant loss and overheating.
Should I replace the inlet hose at the same time?
It's usually worth replacing the matching heater inlet hose at the same time on the 1.8 K16. Both hoses share the same age and heat exposure, so if the outlet hose has perished the inlet hose typically isn't far behind. Doing both together saves repeating the coolant drain.
How do I confirm this heater hose fits my Freelander?
This heater outlet hose fits the Land Rover Freelander 1 (1996-2006) with the 1.8 K16 four-cylinder petrol engine. It's moulded specifically for that application, so check your engine is the 1.8 K16 and use your VIN to confirm the variant before ordering.
