Luchtfilterelement voor het luchtinlaatsysteem van de motor, geplaatst in het luchtfilterhuis.

Het filtert de binnenkomende lucht voordat deze de turbocharger en het inlaatspruitstuk bereikt, en vangt stof en deeltjes uit de lucht op om de cilinders, zuigerveren en boringen te beschermen tegen schurende slijtage. Een geblokkeerd of verslechterd element beperkt de luchtstroom en kan de brandstoftoevoer en de turborespons beïnvloeden, daarom wordt het element regelmatig vervangen tijdens een servicebeurt.
