No, this is the TD4 (BMW M47) inlet-manifold hose for the Freelander 1 from VIN 1A000001 onward. The earlier L-Series diesel uses a different intercooler hose, so match the hose to your engine and chassis number.
Why do these charge-air hoses fail on the TD4?
TD4 intercooler hoses typically perish, split or balloon under boost as the rubber ages and softens from heat and oil mist. Common symptoms are lost boost, black smoke and reduced performance. A sealed hose is essential to hold charge pressure to the manifold.
