The PNH102081 intercooler hose carries pressurised charge air from the turbocharger outlet to the intercooler on the Td5 2.5 litre five-cylinder turbo diesel. It's the turbo-to-intercooler section of the boost circuit, fitted to the Defender Td5 and Discovery 2 Td5, and is shaped to route between the two components.

What happens when a Td5 intercooler hose fails?

When a Td5 intercooler hose splits or perishes it leaks boost pressure, which typically causes power loss, a whistling noise under acceleration and sometimes a limp-mode warning. The rubber hardens with age and under-bonnet heat. Replacing it restores full boost on the turbo-to-intercooler run.
