Voorste halve as - Links voor de vroege Discovery 1, die de aandrijving van het voordifferentieel naar het linkervoorwiellagerhuis overbrengt.

De halve as loopt door de voorasbuis, waarbij het binnenste uiteinde is vertand in het differentieelzijwiel en het buitenste uiteinde is vertand in het Birfield homokinetische gewricht in het draaipunt. Deze constructie brengt koppel over op de wielnaaf en biedt tegelijkertijd de volledige stuuruitslag en asarticulatie. Van toepassing op voertuigen tot VIN JA032850.
