Kardanasmanchet (Schuifkoppeling) is de flexibele rubberen hoes die de schuifkoppeling van de cardanas in de aandrijflijn afsluit.

De schuifkoppeling zorgt ervoor dat de cardanas van lengte kan veranderen wanneer de as door de veerweg beweegt. De manchet omhult de spiebanen, houdt het smeervet binnen en sluit straatvuil en water buiten.

The propshaft sliding joint gaiter is the rubber boot that seals the sliding splined joint on the propshaft. It retains the grease that lubricates the splines and keeps road dirt and water out, so the joint can extend and contract as the axle moves through its suspension travel.
