Frequently asked questions

What does the fuel tank filler hose do?
The fuel tank filler hose is a moulded rubber hose connecting the filler neck to the fuel tank. It carries fuel from the filler opening down into the tank and absorbs the relative movement between the body-mounted filler neck and the chassis-mounted tank. It's pre-moulded to its fitted bend so it follows the run without kinking.
Which Defender does this filler hose fit?
This moulded filler hose fits the Land Rover Defender from 1987-2006 (from VIN XA159807) and the 2007-2016 Puma Defender (from VIN 7A000001). There's a Hi-Cap qualifier around VIN 5A690324, so use your VIN and body type to confirm the correct hose.
What are the signs the filler hose needs replacing?
A collapsed or distorted filler hose typically slows the fill rate and makes the pump nozzle cut out early, while a perished or split hose shows as a fuel smell and staining around the tank area. Either symptom points to renewing the moulded hose.
