Battery Combiner is a microprocessor-controlled, voltage-sensitive relay used in dual-battery and split-charge systems to link a starter battery and an auxiliary battery automatically.

It monitors charging voltage and connects the two batteries in parallel once one reaches the preset charge threshold, then isolates them again when the voltage falls to the discharge level, so the auxiliary battery charges from the alternator without drawing down the starter battery. Operation is bi-directional, allowing the starter battery to be replenished when the auxiliary side is charged from a mains charger. Rated for 12V and 24V systems at 120A.

As a relay-based combiner it introduces virtually no voltage drop, unlike a diode isolator. An emergency parallel-connect function allows the two batteries to be linked manually to assist starting from a discharged battery.

Frequently asked questions

What does the CYR010120000 battery combiner do?
The CYR010120000 is a voltage-sensitive relay that links a starter battery and an auxiliary battery in dual-battery and split-charge systems. It connects the two in parallel once charging voltage crosses a preset threshold, then isolates them again as voltage drops, so the auxiliary battery charges without draining the starter battery.
What's the benefit of a relay combiner over a diode isolator?
A relay-based combiner like this introduces virtually no voltage drop across the connection, unlike a diode isolator, which typically loses some voltage across the diode, giving more efficient charging of the auxiliary battery.
Can this combiner jump-start a flat battery?
Yes, it has an emergency parallel-connect function that lets you manually link the two batteries to assist starting from a discharged battery, in addition to its automatic split-charge operation.
Is this combiner rated for both 12V and 24V systems?
Yes, it's rated for 12V and 24V systems at 120A, covering the common dual-battery voltage setups used in campervan and off-road conversions.
