This Privacy Policy describes how your personal data is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from https://www.roverparts.eu (the "Site"). Budget Parts B.V. is the data controller responsible for processing your personal data.

1. What Personal Data We Collect

A. Device Information

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including:

  • Your web browser
  • IP address
  • Time zone
  • Installed cookies
  • Device type and operating system

We also collect information about the pages or products you view, the referring websites or search terms, and your interactions with the Site. We refer to this as "Device Information."

We collect Device Information using:

  • Log files: track actions on the site and collect data such as IP address, browser type, ISP, referring/exit pages, and timestamps.

B. Order Information

When you make or attempt to make a purchase, we collect: full name, billing and shipping address, payment information (Shopify Payments, PayPal, iDEAL, Bancontact, Klarna), email address, phone number, and purchase history. We refer to this as "Order Information."

C. Marketing & Communication Data

If you opt in to marketing, we may collect newsletter sign-up details, marketing preferences, and interaction with email campaigns (open/click data).

2. How We Use Your Personal Data

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

  • Order Information – to process, fulfil and deliver your orders, take payment, handle returns and warranty claims, provide customer support, and send order-related messages. Legal basis: performance of the contract, and legal obligation for invoicing and tax records.
  • Device Information – to keep the Site secure and prevent fraud, and (with your consent) to analyse and improve the Site and measure advertising. Legal basis: legitimate interest for security and fraud prevention; consent for analytics and advertising cookies.
  • Marketing & Communication Data – to send newsletters and offers you have asked for and to measure their effectiveness. Legal basis: your consent, or legitimate interest for marketing to existing customers.

Is providing data mandatory? Providing your order and contact information is necessary to enter into and perform the purchase contract. If you do not provide it, we cannot process or deliver your order. Marketing and analytics data are optional and based on your consent.

  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest, including direct marketing (Article 21 GDPR)
  • Not be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produce legal or similarly significant effects. We do not carry out such automated decision-making. Note that payment providers (for example Klarna) may run their own automated identity, credit or fraud checks when approving a payment; these are carried out under their own privacy policies (Article 22 GDPR).

  • Order Information: 7 years, to comply with tax and accounting obligations
  • Marketing data: until you withdraw consent
  • Account data where no order is placed: up to 24 months after your last login, then deleted or anonymised
  • Customer-service correspondence: up to 24 months after the matter is closed
  • Website traffic and analytics logs: up to 14 months, or the period set in the Cookie Declaration
  • Cookies: as set out in our Cookie Declaration

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is governed by applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be posted here, with the effective date.
