ESR406LR - Fuel Filter

The ESR4065G is the in-line petrol fuel filter for various Land Rover petrol engines. It filters dirt and debris from the fuel before it reaches the injectors, protecting the fuel system. It's a genuine Land Rover filter fitting 6-cylinder and V8 petrol applications.

The ESR4065G fits petrol engines in the Defender up to 2016 (6-cyl and V8), Discovery 1 (4-cyl MPi and V8 EFI), Range Rover Classic (from VIN JA610294) and Range Rover P38 (4.0/4.6 V8) up to VIN WA410481. Confirm your engine is petrol, as diesel filters differ.

A fuel filter should be replaced as routine servicing because it clogs with trapped debris over time, causing fuel starvation, hesitation or hard starting. A blocked filter strains the pump. Consult your vehicle's service schedule for the replacement interval.

Fitting the in-line fuel filter is a DIY job. Depressurise the fuel system first, then release the hose clamps or quick connectors. Fit the new filter the correct way round, following the flow arrow on the body toward the engine.
