A stripped engine is supplied as an assembled core built up from the cylinder block and cylinder head, without the external ancillaries. Components such as the turbocharger, fuel injection equipment, manifolds and electrical items are not included, and are transferred from the original engine or fitted separately. As a remanufactured unit it has been dismantled, machined and rebuilt with reconditioned or new parts to restore it to service tolerances.

It provides a rebuilt engine core as the basis for a full engine replacement.
