Relief Valve Spring is the coil spring that controls the opening pressure of the oil pressure relief valve in the 300Tdi engine lubrication system.

The oil pressure relief valve protects the lubrication circuit by venting excess oil pressure back to the sump when pressure exceeds the calibrated threshold. The spring determines this threshold: a fatigued or collapsed spring causes the valve to open prematurely, resulting in chronically low oil pressure. Replacement is recommended whenever the oil pump or relief valve assembly is disturbed.
