Air Cleaner Mounting — a rubber mounting that secures and supports the air cleaner housing within the engine bay.

The rubber body isolates the housing from chassis and engine vibration, holding it in position while preventing chafing and fatigue cracking of the assembly and its connected ductwork. The same mounting is also used to support the ABS pump in some applications.

Perished or split rubber lets the mounted component move and vibrate, so the mounting is renewed when the rubber has hardened, cracked or lost its grip.
