The disc provides the friction surface that the rear brake pads are clamped against by the caliper, converting the vehicle's momentum into heat at the wheel.

Mounts to the rear hub behind the road wheel and works together with the rear caliper and rear pad set.

Brake discs are replaced as an axle pair, and new pads are fitted at the same time so the friction pairing beds in evenly.
