Brake Disc Set - rear axle, supplied as a pair.

The discs mount to the rear hubs and provide the friction surface the rear brake pads clamp against, dissipating the heat generated under braking. Discs are replaced in axle pairs so braking stays balanced across the axle, and new pads should be fitted at the same time.

Clean the hub mating face of corrosion before fitting so the disc seats square and runs true, and remove the protective coating from the friction faces before the first drive.

Frequently asked questions

What is the GA4855 rear brake disc set used for?
GA4855 is a pair of rear brake discs that mount to the rear hubs and give the rear pads their friction surface, dissipating heat under braking. Supplied as a matched pair for the Defender, made by EBC.
What should I do before fitting these discs?
Clean corrosion off the hub mating face so the disc seats square and runs true, then wipe the protective coating off the friction faces before driving. Skipping either step can cause a warped disc or reduced initial braking performance.
Why do rear brake discs need replacing?
Discs wear thin, develop scoring, or start to warp from heat cycling, which shows up as pedal pulsation or reduced braking bite. Replace them in axle pairs and fit new pads at the same time.
Which Defender years does GA4855 fit?
GA4855 covers the Defender from 1986 to 2016, spanning both the old-style and Puma-era models. It's a rear axle pair, so order one set per vehicle regardless of engine variant.
