Brand Reinz
Inlet Manifold Gasket for the inlet manifold to cylinder head joint on the 2.0L 4-cylinder MPi T Series petrol engine.

Seals the manifold face against the cylinder head inlet ports, keeping the induction tract airtight downstream of the throttle so the engine draws only metered air. A leaking gasket admits unmetered air and commonly presents as an erratic idle or a lean running fault.

Replace whenever the inlet manifold is removed.

Frequently asked questions

What is the inlet manifold gasket used for?
The inlet manifold gasket seals the inlet manifold to the cylinder head on the 2.0L 4-cylinder MPi T Series petrol engine. It keeps the induction tract airtight downstream of the throttle so the engine draws only metered air. Fitted to the Land Rover Discovery 1 (1989-1998).
What are the signs of a failing inlet manifold gasket?
A failing inlet manifold gasket typically admits unmetered air, showing as an uneven or high idle and a lean running fault on the 2.0L T Series engine. Replace it whenever the inlet manifold is removed, since the old gasket rarely reseals cleanly.
What's the difference between the inlet and exhaust manifold gasket on the T Series engine?
The inlet manifold gasket seals the inlet side, where the engine draws air in, while the exhaust manifold gasket seals the hot exhaust side. This is the inlet gasket for the 2.0L T Series petrol Discovery 1. Order by the manifold you're removing, since they're not interchangeable.
