Electric Parking Brake Actuator - the motor-gear unit that mounts on a rear brake caliper and applies or releases the parking brake electrically.

One actuator is fitted per rear caliper (two per vehicle). On command from the parking brake module it drives the caliper piston to clamp the pads against the disc and hold the vehicle, then retracts to release.
