Crankshaft Seal - Rear - 1.5 mm seals the rear of the crankshaft where it exits the cylinder block at the flywheel and drive plate end.

Supplied complete with its retainer, it prevents engine oil escaping past the rear main journal into the bellhousing. The 1.5 mm designation identifies the seal specification. For petrol applications.

What is the LR043721G crankshaft seal?
This is the rear crankshaft oil seal, supplied complete with its retainer housing, in the 1.5mm specification. It seals the back of the crankshaft where it exits the block at the flywheel end, stopping oil escaping into the bellhousing. For petrol engines only.
Which engines and models does it fit?
It fits the 3.0L supercharged V6 petrol and 5.0L V8 petrol (AJ133) engines in Discovery 4 and 5, Range Rover L405, Range Rover Sport L494 and Range Rover Velar. It's petrol-specific, so diesel engines use a different seal.
When should this seal be replaced?
The rear crankshaft seal is typically renewed when it leaks oil at the back of the engine, or as a matter of course while the gearbox or flywheel is off, since access needs the transmission removed. The retainer is included, so seal and housing are replaced together.
