Does my Range Rover Sport need the ACE version?
Only fit this ACE damper if your L494 has ACE (Active Cornering Enhancement) with Continuous Variable Damping. It carries a wiring connection for the adaptive valve, so it's not interchangeable with a standard passive rear shock. Check your suspension type before ordering.
How many of these rear shocks do I need?
You typically need two, as the L494 uses one adaptive rear damper each side. This part covers both RH and LH, and it comes with the reinforcement, seal and nut. Replacing them as a pair keeps damping balanced across the rear axle.
What are the symptoms of a worn ACE rear shock?
A failing adaptive rear damper typically causes a firm or uncontrolled ride, a suspension warning light, or fluid leaks from the damper body. On CVD systems a fault can also disable the adaptive damping until the shock is replaced.
