Throttle Body and Motor regulates the volume of air entering the intake manifold on the 2.0L Si4 16V TIVCT turbocharged petrol engine. It sits in the air intake tract between the charge-air ducting and the intake manifold.

The integrated electric motor positions the throttle plate under engine-management control (drive-by-wire), setting airflow in response to accelerator demand and idle-speed correction. An integral throttle position sensor reports the plate angle back to the ECU.
