The front right-hand drive shaft transmits drive from the front differential output to the right-hand front wheel hub, forming part of the front four-wheel-drive driveline. It's fitted to vehicles with a two-speed transfer case. This is a GKN OEM shaft.
Which vehicles does this front drive shaft fit?
This shaft fits the right-hand front of the Discovery 5, Range Rover L405 and Range Rover Sport L494, but not the 5.0 V8 supercharged. On the L494 it applies to the two-speed transfer case with CommandTrac. Confirm your engine, side and transfer case before ordering.
What are the signs the drive shaft needs replacing?
Front drive shafts typically fail through worn CV joints or torn boots, causing a clicking on full lock or vibration under drive. A split boot lets grease out and dirt in, wearing the joint. A worn or vibrating shaft usually needs replacing.
