Fuel Pump - high-pressure, engine-mounted fuel injection pump within the direct-injection fuel system on petrol engines.

Driven off the engine, it raises fuel from the low-pressure supply circuit to the high pressure demanded by the direct-injection rail and injectors, metering delivery to match engine load. Fitted to supercharged V6 and V8 petrol applications.
