Timing Chain - Lower is the lower (primary) chain of the timing drive on the 2.0L Ingenium four-cylinder petrol engine (AJ200 / AJ20P4, including the AJ200P PHEV).

It transmits drive from the crankshaft into the timing system and works in conjunction with the chain tensioner and guides. Fitted to petrol variants only; the diesel Ingenium engines use a separate timing arrangement.

Replace the tensioner and guides alongside the chain whenever the timing drive is disturbed.
