Head Gasket for the right-hand cylinder bank of the 5.0L V8 AJ133 petrol engine. It seals the cylinder head to the engine block, containing combustion pressure while sealing the coolant and oil passages across the deck face.

This is the three-layer version fitted to the right-hand bank; one gasket is required per bank. Later engine builds were revised to a four-layer gasket (LR181762).

Do I need one or two head gaskets for the 5.0 V8?

Why replace the head gasket rather than reuse it?
A head gasket is single-use, so it's renewed whenever the cylinder head is removed on the 5.0 V8 AJ133. Re-using a compressed gasket risks combustion leaks, coolant or oil seepage across the deck, and lost compression. Always fit a new gasket to the correct bank.
